Park City Nightlife
While vacationing in Park City, one of the most difficult decisions I had to make was how to spend my evenings. It’s not because there was nothing to do but just the opposite. If anything, there are too many choices. The streets are filled with bars, clubs, restaurants, theaters, live entertainment and people, lots of people.
If culinary delights toot your horn, let me suggest a symphony of dining masterpieces. The Side Car is a great place to satisfy appetites then work the calories off on the dance floor. Side Car is not your average bar. The clientele are a little more upscale but they’re not afraid to down a few pizza pies either. The best in town.
Main Street is home to a few other amazing establishments. Shucking down oysters is the main pastime at O’Shucks. Many a man and women alike shuck oysters till they’re dizzy. O’Shucks was the place to be during the Olympics with a cozy interior and standing room only crowds; a great place to stay warm.
The honest truth is that the nightlife is an opportunity to drink and although most people don’t associate any place in Utah with drinking, Park City has perfected it. A major player in that perfection is Lindzee O’Michaels Mixologists. Beer, beer and more beer mixed with a lot of fun are the mainstay at this pleasure palace. The largest supply of beer in town makes it that much more fun to sit and watch NFL football. As a heads up, football Sunday is not a quiet Sunday.
Justice would not be served to Park City without mentioning The Sundance Film Festival. The Festival is without a doubt the biggest thing this side of the creation. It is so large the Festival has it’s own guides to help visitors find their way around. Festival Insiders is what they’re called and you’ll find them camped out on Main Street. Don’t mistake them for movie stars. More than 50,000 people attend this carnival of filmdom where more than 200 films are selected for exhibition. Most people don’t realize that more than 9,000 films and shorts were submitted. Live music and entertainers can be found everywhere.
At the Festival, almost every activity is oriented to or as a consequence of film. Film panels discuss the latest techniques, theaters present the newest films and the talk of the town is of the film industry. At the Sundance Film Festival the average Joe gets to hobnob with the elite of film. The Festival is a celebration of music in film. A great place to enjoy those happenings is at the Sundance House Cafe.
Nightlife is an ongoing event every night all night at Park City. The best way to experience the nocturnal events is to plan your evenings. A good plan makes for a good evening. Make the most of it.
